Evening Gala Paint the Town Red Details and Registration – Autism Vancouver Friday April 8th 2011
On Friday Evening at the 2011 Autism Vancouver Biennial Congress we’re having a special Paint the Town Red Gala! Come join us.
Whats the evening about – what is going on? FUN! The “Paint the Town Red” gala is a celebration of autism and those who care for people on the spectrum, autism moms. The event, with performances featuring people on the spectrum, will be an incredible opportunity to celebrate uniqueness.
Why Kelly LeBrock and “Paint The Town Red?” Kelly Le Brock is deeply affected by autism. She was a caretaker for her brother Harold, who had autism, for the last months of his life. She has a strong desire to assist moms by giving them information about what has helped with her own brain injury. She is flying from California to Vancouver because she wants to help autism moms!
Who will be performing as far as music? An exciting surprise musician on the autism spectrum!
Artism, The Art of Autism. What’s it about?
Artism: The Art of Autism will have its come-out party here! This book offers an incredible glimpse into the imaginative world of people on the autism spectrum. With 54 artists from around the world representing all ages, the book shows that autism has no boundaries and manifests differently in each person diagnosed. At once inspiring and myth defying, the art spans a range of emotion and subject material. This is a must read for those who are interested in the creative potential of the human mind. As Psychologist Colin Zimbleman in the book states, “autism is at the cutting edge of society.”
What type of auction items? Beautiful art work of people on the spectrum and the Artism: The Art of Autism book.
The Dance with Kelly? We will kick-off the event with “The Women in Red” dance. Guys, this is an opportunity to fill Kelly’s dance card!
